(love, for the purposes of this post, shall loosely refer to relationships of the non-platonic kind, at large. and credit for this fruit of a late night coffee session goes to bfg and j)
now that i've gotten the technicalities out of the way, let me get to the point. love is not unlike the malaysian public transport system really - where passengers (i.e. us single individuals), are broadly divided into two groups. those in the city, and those in the kampung.
for those of us in the city - at times, you wait and wait and wait, rain or shine, trying to catch a cab or a bus or whatever - and nothing comes. but, when it does, all of a sudden 3 cabs and 4 buses show up, all at one go!
then, there are those of us, stuck in the kampung - the no man's land, where you know for a fact, that cabs or buses are hard to come by. so what do you do? you hop right on to the first one that comes along - 'cos who knows when the next one will come? right?
so who would you rather be? (although i'm not sure if we have a choice in the matter)
perhaps the best solution would be to drive your own car. =)

j brought to my attention that we had forgotten to include a third category - those stationed at KL Sentral - where your choice of transportation is perpetually at your disposal. how nice =)

in other news, i was at
rama v on friday night as they were launching the start of their regular live jazz act. and
through sheer coincidence, hiro, from
tokyo blue, was playing that night, with another ensemble called "the rapture". he now probably thinks i'm stalking him(!), seeing that just the weekend before, i went up to him to buy their debut CD when they performed in alexis ampang. it didn't help that my friends went a little crazy with the teasing, purely based on my remark of "yeah he's pretty cute".
sigh.
in any case, if you're interested in some live music - you now have an alternative at rama v. the rapture tends to lean towards jazz standards and "jazzed-up" covers of all-time pop classics. they perform every friday night (saturdays, if there's a function on friday).
the launch wasn't an entirely a great experience - the crowd was a little too noisy for my liking - seeing that they pretty much drowned out the band for most of the night. but then again, it was the launch night, and the owners had most of their friends there in high spirits.
will probably give it another go in the next couple of months. and yes, it's only because i am stalking hiro.
(for the record, i'm kidding bout the stalking bit).
