mood: very much awake...
listening to: -
double standards is an inherent flaw in human nature. but what i detest is this - blatant application of said double standards by those who are supposed to lead by example.
argh. hmpf. sigh.
on the bright side, last night's jam session @
sino|the bar upstairs dished a very, very nice surprise in the form of
tokyo blue. despite being only a three piece band (bass, keyboard & drums), the music they showcased was rich and textured, with an amalgamation of different layers of moods, sounds, rhythms and whathaveyou.
putting it in writing here, one would think that they might have been a little overambitious in trying to do so much at one time with a song. but personally, i think they did a marvellous job. each song managed to tell an entertaining story somehow.
to describe it merely as "jazzfunk" doesn't quite cut it. i think bossa-jazz-funk-emo-rock might cut it closer. in any case, j did say that it was very me. heehee.
can't seem to find info on when and where they'll be performing next. but there'll be an album launch in october '09.
can't wait! =D
