mood: flabberghasted!
listening to: all at once - the fray
disc(ussed/oursed) over the past couple of weeks:
side A...
dating "simpler" girls is easier. why? simply (pun intended...haha!) because they won't engage you in heavier topics (i.e. euthanasia, the n.e.p., the state of world poverty, politics etc.). instead it will revolve around how much you love her, how much time you spend with her, whether she looks fat, the red or blue dress, which shoes to buy etc. (which, when you sit and think about it, may be even more difficult to answer than the meaning of life). but yeah, in short, their unpredictability is more predictable, and hence requires a relatively lower amount of...erm...emotional maintenance. warning: you might have to compensate the lack of the above, with more monetary maintenance though. hey! God is fair =).
side B...
dating complicated girls is better. why? because having an intellectual peer, or may be even someone one small notch below, can provide interesting discourse and stimulation of the intellectual kind. your partner should be able to challenge you in this manner - where's the fun in dating someone who agrees with you a 100% of the time, no questions asked? one might as well get a pet. no? but whilst she may be able to challenge you on points of morality, history, politics and appreciation of the arts, you would probably have to start living up to her higher standard, which might tire you out after the initial spark. not forgetting that if both are fiercely stubborn, then no common ground can be found when faced with diametrically opposed points of view.
my side...
- you like what you like. and you don't, what you don't.
- plus: nobody's perfect.
- (personal preference to side B though)
another side...
- more importantly, how close or how far from perfection are you willing to settle for, before you're willing to take that leap of faith?
the insanely idealistic side...
- any two people in love would accept each other for who they are and not try to change any part of the other (!)...
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! *wipes tears from eyes*...

on to another poison. heh*
much to my surprise, after 5 whisky cokes and 2 shooters a couple of weekends ago, my vision was warped to a point where everything was black, with neon outlines. this lasted a good coupled of minutes. however, concluded that i was merely very close to blacking out as opposed to having a magic mushroom moment =)
oddly enough, i felt completely sober before it happened.
i think i haven't been drinking often enough that's why... heheheh...time to hit the bars again(?)
=)
