fate/destiny vs. choice

there are those in your life, who are there, because you choose/have chosen to keep your paths crossed. and there are those, for whatever reason, who seem to reappear, time and again, despite no real effort on either part to keep in touch. hrm.

a gist of what transpired with a friend today:

women are hard work. i don't think anybody would dispute that.

got into a minor accident this morning. a look to the right and a yawn in between was all it took. thankfully i have a friend who was nice enough to
  • bring me to a mechanic
  • let me use his car during the day
  • collect my car for me
  • pay on my behalf first
  • AND also pump petrol for me before our "vehicular exchange"
  • HUGS*

and i was late too. plus i forgot my work tag. grr. drank too much coffee and tea too. bleh*

guys perplex me too.

two schools of thought:
  • tell it like it is, so that there's no room for misinterpretation/guessing games; or
  • don't, cos telling it like it is, compells the counterparty in question to behave in a certain manner, thereby inhibiting any room for any natural/genuine/sincere/real response

what say you?

Guessing games depress me.
